Course Description:

The goal for this course is to develop more advanced computer skills and knowledge in the Information Tech field for industry. This will be accomplished by using the main programs within Microsoft’s Office, and Google Docs however, can be tailored for use with most office packages.

The course focuses on the introduction of tools and strategies to engage students in authentic learning patterns and problem solving situations providing a foundation for transforming personal learning and gaining an understanding of open source and proprietary software. Learning in this manner enables students to address cross curricular and community orientated real problems, rather than just practicing software/tools and procedural operations.

Attendance

Daily attendance is a must in this course! You will be working independently through most of the course materials. It is your responsibility to ensure you are up to date with all course work.

Assignments and Projects

  • Assignments will be handed out on a regular basis to be completed during class time.
  • Missed assignments and tests must be made up at lunch or after school.
  • Projects will be given that incorporates the main ideas/concepts for each unit.
